ABOUT US: Via Cognitive Health is dedicated to providing full-day, educational programming for older adults living with the early stages of a cognitive decline disorder. The innovative curriculum is structured (much like a school), with subjects and electives. Via also offers continuing education, care education, and brain health programs for individuals and businesses/organizations. We are seeking a passionate and experienced Education and Outreach Director to lead our educational programs and community outreach initiatives.
JOB SUMMARY: The Education and Outreach Director will be responsible for developing, implementing, and overseeing educational programs and outreach activities that align with our Via Cognitive Health’s mission and vision. This role requires a dynamic individual with strong leadership skills, a deep understanding of educational practices, and a commitment to community engagement.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Develop and implement educational programs and curricula that support the organization’s mission and goals.
• Provide updates and training to team of educators on new and existing classes.
• Establish and maintain partnerships with medical providers, community organizations, and other stakeholders.
• Plan and execute outreach events, workshops, and seminars.
• Evaluate the effectiveness of educational programs and make improvements as needed.
• Prepare and manage the education and outreach budget.
• Develop and distribute educational materials and resources.
• Represent the organization at community events and meetings.
• Collaborate with other departments to integrate educational initiatives into broader organizational strategies.
• Stay current with trends and best practices in education and outreach.
OTHER RESPONSIBILITIES:
• It is the responsibility of all Via Cognitive Health staff members to recruit, train and work with volunteers and to treat all members, volunteers, guests, and other employees in a courteous and respectful manner at all times while maintain a cooperative atmosphere for everyone.
• Carries out any additional assignments required to fulfill the mission of the Via Cognitive Health.
QUALIFICATIONS:
• Bachelor’s degree in education or a related field or applicable experience.
• Minimum of 3 years of experience in education, outreach, or a related field.
• Proven leadership and team management skills.
• Excellent communication (written and verbal) and interpersonal skills.
• Strong organizational and project management abilities.
• Proficient in: Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Publisher/Canva/Design Tools
• Experience with curriculum development and program evaluation.
• Ability to work collaboratively with diverse groups and communities.
• Passion for education and community engagement.
